How many Mars Volta fans does it take to screw in a lightbulb? One - because the perforated mongrel architect stuck in the intergalactic bayonet trail of transoceanic depth is trapped with a cenotaph that track-marked amoeba lands craft and flinched in his infra-recon like a boxcar cadaver. Duh.

So Jacob told me a month ago to update.  Or more specifically, to leave LJ and come back to xanga, which won't happen, but nonetheless I'm updating.

I'm in DC now because I'm visiting Lori over my spring break.  Today we went thrifting in NoVa with my two Northern Virginia friends and my visiting girlfriend.  I found a CD I'd been looking everywhere for ("Return of the Rentals" by The Rentals, a new Bible translation, and a dictionary of American religious denominations.  We also stopped in a Korean grocery store and I bought a huge container of jelly candy and we shared it in the car while driving around and listening to Sarah's Gay Mix CD and Neutral Milk Hotel.  It was so pretty outside.  We stopped at this awesome oldschool diner and listened to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline while eating French Fries.

Lo verily, it is a good break.

Marco's coming out to his dad this week!  Why am I not there to watch it?  Ah!

I'll update this for the people that read this:

College has been very good to me so far.  I've met a lot of people, though not as many as I would have liked, but I'm being reasonably social, which is a good thing.  My roommate is great, and I seem to have fallen into a niche with some people, but hopefully not a rut.

The one bad thing about the whole experience was Labor Day morning, when my parents came to take me home.  Basically, they read my journal ("Oh, I was just looking for notebooks with most of the pages blank."  Yeah, right) and figured that I was depressed and drove six hours to get me.  FUN.  I had to stay at home until Friday, miss all but one class that week, and see a shrink.

But now that I'm back my classes look good.  I'm a little worried about Russian because everyone seems to have better talking skills than I do, even though I already know 2/3 of this weeks vocab words.  Greek is a lot of fun.  I like pronouncing funny letters.  Religion is awesome, but I don't see a way how Early and Medieval Christian Thought couldn't be awesome.  The professor is short, bow-tie wearing, and adorable.  Like Dok Nok, just Anglo.

I already signed up to a substitute DJ at the radio station, so maybe you'll get to hear me on the radio sometime.  Who knows?

Okay, I'm almost packed, I just need to finish laundry and find the power cord for my iPod and then the rest of my shit can be shoved under the bed and in the closet to fester until fall break.  I'm looking to be done by ten, and then I'll spend the last six hours at home trying to sleep but failing, most likely.

I was so freaking sentimental Sunday night and now...can we leave already?  Just give me twenty minutes to give my room the illusion of clean....

All the contact info is in my profile.  I'll have a facebook soon, and that should be in there, too.
